DC Telesystems was the first to develop a national model for a direct Managed Inmate Telephone System. The Managed System prototype was designed to implement cutting edge technology, accountability, and increase efficiency while allowing Detention and Correctional Facilities to determine and control and maximize telephone revenues.
The concept is simple, the results impressive - our clients, based on their specific needs, can determine and control their profit margins. Our Managed Telephone System yields 100% profits from revenue- all operating costs are paid out of the revenue pool and the remaining money is pure profit for our clients.
DC TeleSystems has incorporated many of the successful concepts originally from our Managed System into our Turn Key System, such as the state-of-the-art software, customizable features, reliable call processing equipment and furnishing facilities with a fully trained, professional Telecommunications Site Manager (TSM) to oversee System operations and maintenance.
Our Managed Inmate Telephone System was successfully put into service in 2002 in a 750 bed facility. The facility recently expanded, adding additional beds into an adjacent building and DC TeleSystems facilitated the telephone expansion into the new building. A second extension to the contract was recently renewed with DC TeleSystems.
The DC TeleSystems' Managed Inmate Telephone System was recognized in 2004 by "Correctional News" in an article subtitled, "Managed Phone Systems Can Offer More Revenue For Your Facility". The article includes a pie chart showing a 65% profit structure for the Managed System compared to 45% under a traditional Turn Key System, crediting DC TeleSystems for this inmate telephone innovation.
DC TeleSystems offers both options, a Turn-Key Inmate Telephone System or a Managed Inmate Telephone System, to our clients. And, because our Turn-Key System may easily be transitioned to the Managed System, DC TeleSystems is flexible and can offer future options should the needs of our clients change over time.
